ACCURATE ELECTRIC - PAY #2 - TRAFFIC SIGNAL Mayor Meier Councilman Fauson Councilman Leary AUTHORIZATION FOR PAYMENT COAL CREEK WATER STANDARDS SUGGESTED STUDY SESSION September 16, 1982 9/7/82 Page -10- ESTIMATE Each councilmember had a copy of the pay estimate as well as a copy of the recommenda- tion from Centennial Engineering and the City Engineer that the item be paid. Inquired what 22.8 square yards of exposed aggregate paving was. City Engineer Blanchard advised it was actually sidewalk on the ends of the nose on the island. Commented that on the existing roadway the curb and guttering is higher on the islands, will this be brought to level? Blanchard advised this was requested to allow for future overlay. Requested the owners of the Safeway property be contacted to see if they would place a sidewalk at their entry-way to accomodate pedestrians crossing South Boulder Road. Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Ferrera seconded that Pay Estimate #2 in the amount of $63,582.72 be authorized for payment to Accurate Electric for the signal light. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Each councilmember had a copy of a memo from City Engineer Blanchard on the status of the N.P.D.E.S. Permit Administrator Wurl suggested a study session be scheduled soon to discuss this item and the Boulder County 1041 Standards in more depth because we are reaching a point where we need Council's direction on hmv we are going to deal with the study that is to be done - whether the S~ate is going to do a study that will be in the City's best interest. Also what would be our ultimate request for reconsideration by the Water Quality Control Commission standards set on the streams. If this is the course Council wishes to take it would require a formal request on our part - setting of a hearing, testimony, etc. Wurl suggested the date for this session be September 16, 1982 after the meeting with the Boulder County Human Services people.
