Councilman Leary APPROVAL OF EXECUTIVE SESSION ACCEPTANCE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT WATER TRUCK - AWARD BIDS ON TRUCK & LEASE Mayor Meier 7/6/82 Page -6- Rautenstraus advised regarding land ac- quisition. Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Fauson seconded that Council have an executive session on an Attorney/Client basis to deal with land acquisition. Commented that at sometime when a decision is made or a decision not made on the nego- tiations that Council essentially do explain what these negotiations were and the action taken to the public. He felt at that time it was th@ir right to know. Wished to know of Council's agreement or support to do this. Mayor and Counci1members expressed their sup- port of Councilman Leary's wishes. Question called for on the motion. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Ferrera seconded the City Attorney's report be ac- cepted and placed on file. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried. Counci1members had a copy of the bids sub- mitted and recommendation from Chief Accoun- tant Caranci for leasing company. Administrator 1Nur1 advised Council had author- ized staff to call for bids on the water truck and leasing of the same. Recom- mendation was that the water truck bid be awarded to Mountain Truck & Equipment Co. in the amount of $20,934.78 - the low bidder. Wur1 recommended a lease purchase from Colo- rado National Leasing Co. Commented there seemed to be some confusion as to the lease purchase or direct purchase of the water truck. It was his understand- ing this would be a direct purchase from the Jacobs/Kahan open space funds. Discussion by Council regarding direct pur- chase versus lease/purchase. Administrator lNur1 recommended lease/purchase based on the budget in terms of the cash flow, etc. it would make it easier on the City if we extl~nded the payments.
