Councilman Leary Commented this would be about 1/8th of the money the City would be expecting for open space purposes; and it was his opinion that gradually Council should be consider- ing a more pay as you go situation. The price of the water truck would be approxi- mately 20 to 25% more if leased. He also felt that during the budget cycle Council attempt to takE~ this course to make the City more fiscally solvent. Administrator ~vurl stated that open space funds are difficult to accumulate and if Council wishes to continue these purchases they may need to be very cautious pertinent to any funds for open space acquisition. Councilman Cussen Suggested perhaps the purchase of the water truck be delayed until the July 20th meeting. Councilman Leary Inquired if the bid on the water truck would still be firm in two more weeks. Director Hioco stated that they would have to call for new bids as this bid was only firm until July 14th 1982. Chief Account Caranci advised that the leas- ing bid was firm until July 21st. Suggested that this item be delayed until after the Executive Session and then be con- sidered. Councilman Ferrera DELAY WATER TRUCK BID Councilwoman Morris moved, Mayor Meier seconded the water truck bid be delayed until after the Executive Session. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. WATER RATE - REBATE Each councilmember had a copy of a memo submitted by Attorney Rautenstraus relating to the water rate rebate for elderly citizens.
