'ttorney Rautenstraus Administrator Wurl Mayor Meier Councilman Cummings )uncilwoman Morris Amendment motion withdrawn Recess RESOLUTION #18 - CHURCH OF THE LATTER DAY SAINTS SPECIAL REVIEW USE 5/18/82 Page -19- Advised he could see a problem cited Public Service Co. had this problem. It was his opinion Council would have to be very speci- fic as far as age limits and exact rates. However, he felt there could be potential problems in the future. Advised there would also be a problem on the computer process to handle all the differences. He felt this could be done on a different basis, i.e. an amount re- turned through application, such as the property tax refunds given the senior citizens. Suggested that Councilwoman Morris withdraw her motion because of the legal implications but further discussion will be held by council members and the City Attorney to find alter- natives such as a rebate, etc. to senior citizens.on fixed incomes. Agreed to withdraw his second if he could have assurances that Council discuss al- ternatives before the Ordinance #760 becomes effective. Agreed to withdraw her motion on <l__Gommitment from Council that within the next 30 days that they will look at an alternate method of easing the rates for those se.niorcitizens on fixed incomes. Roll call vote on Ordinance #760 as amended. YES: Morris, Cussen, Ferrera, Leary, Meier, Cummings NO: Fauson Motion carried 6-1. Mayor Meier called a recess at 9:30 P.M. meeting reconvened at 9:32 P.M. Attorney Rautenstraus read the resolution in its entirety. Director Rupp gave a slide presentation of the area - consisted of 7.2 acres, zoned agricultural - a church is permitted under the special review process, proposal to construct a one story stake center, consisting of a chapel, gymnasium, meeting hall, offices, and Sunday School classrooms, to serve Boulder County wards, to be located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Washington Avenue and South Boulder Road.
