<br />4/20/82 <br /> <br />Page -9- <br /> <br />is trying to form a policy, but at the same <br />Louisville is becoming the arena to test it. <br />I would think if anybody from Boulder County <br />is present to get their information together. <br />He was certain the applicant has had feed- <br />back if they were zoned industrial, that <br />there is going to be some kind of contention. <br />He did not appreciate the fact as a Council- <br />member, trying to develop a policy, of <br />an applicant coming in to state they have <br />Boulder County light industrial zoning, <br />but Louisville has designated the area open <br />space - now what do we do? This extremely <br />irritated him. <br /> <br />Administrator Wurl <br /> <br />Councilman Leary <br /> <br />Advised it was his opinion that the property <br />had been zoned light industrial for a number <br />of years. A portion of what the staff was <br />relying on, when they applied to subdivide <br />the property, was the County's publicized <br />position that they were opposed to approving <br />development outside the City limits, in <br />either our planning area or the City's <br />urban services area. Also, their stated <br />policy that they were going to direct the <br />growth and development to inside the City <br />limits and inside the Comp Plan. <br /> <br />Inquired if any building permits had been <br />approved by Boulder County as yet; is there <br />still the opportunity that the City could <br />protest? <br />Rupp advised it was his understanding when <br />the County approved the subdivision, it would <br />be difficult to deny approval for a building <br />permi t . <br /> <br />Mayor Meier <br /> <br />Commented regardless of the outcome of the <br />request, he personally felt a letter should <br />be written to- Boulder County stating that the City's <br />zoning and their zoning designation should agree, <br />and the City's referral reply tending to <br />be ignored, and this does not create the <br />best working relationship between the two, <br />especially since Louisville has endeavored <br />to uphold the Boulder Valley Comp Plan, while <br />the City's Comp Plan is not receiving the <br />same treatment. He requested Attorney Rauten- <br />straus and Director Rupp provide Council <br />
