Suggested that
the press would mention Council is discussing
this item and if anyone else has some prior-
ities how it should be spent, they could
appear at the meeting and make their state-
ments known.

Mayor Meier

Remarked that the City too has some priority
items of their own they have been trying to
finalize and suggested Council review some
of these also.

J.yor Meier

Councilman Leary further stated the agree-
ment did mention downtown redevelopment,
maintenence of open space. RES felt the
intention of the State were two priorities -
to help mitigate the impacts the Mall will
have in terms of open space, quality of life,
and to mitigate any negative impacts it
may have on the downtown development.

Informed Council he was invited to attend
a meeting on February 10, 1982 at the
Board of County Commissioners and he would
be unable to attend. The invitation was to
view the historic tressles and needle's eye
tunnel on Rollins Pass; the repair costs
would be approximately $200,000 + $50,000
each year to maintain these. He asked
if Director Hioco or someone from the His-
torical Commission would like to attend,
or any member of Council would like to attend.

Mayor Meier requested that this space be
given to the van to transport senior citizens
during the day until 5:00 P.M., and Director
Hioco reported this was not necessary.
His request was as soon as the City had the
opportunity to take the sign down, this space
would revert t:o public parking.

MAYOR'S PARKING SPACE

Meier also stated he had spoken with the
Storer Cable TV people and suggested that City
departments make use of their public access
channels and community bulletin board.
