1/5/82 Page -9- Councilman Cummings Remarkedre: the Little League Programs, there was no payment of instructors, and realized that the deficit in this program was due to equipment, which could be moni- tored more closely with the new inventory. It was his opinion that the out-of-city resident participants enrolled because of the quality of the program rather than the price, and it was his opinion they would stay in the program if the fees were raised. Councilman Fauson Inquired if the in-city residents were given preference in the various programs. Director Hioco advised that they were. Roll call vote on the motion by Councilman Brown Fauson No Cummings Yes DelPizzo No Brown Yes Meier No Domenico No Motion defeated 4-2. PARKS FEES - DEFEATED ~ ::ilman Meier Remarked that the next meeting of Council would be January 11, 1982 and wished to express his sincere thanks to the present Mayor and Council. There were one of the best bodies of men he had the privlege with whom to work; appreciated everyone's time, help, and con- sideration. Hi.s term with them was a pleasant one and hopefully they will remain active in the City. Councilman Domenico Remarked that he heard rumors that some of the new Councilmembers have been attending secret meetings and they should be reminded of the Code of Ethics. Mayor Caranci Wished to thank all members of Council, staff, City Attorney, Water Attorney Williamson, for their support and hoped all would continue in the future. He remarked that he read in the paper where there is another petition being circulated in the City. It seems as if when this Council acted on something and a petition is circu- lated, it costs the citizens $4,000 to $5,000 for another election; but it never ceases to amaze me how this city survived in the past without the Citizens Participating in Louis- ville's Future, and it was his opinion they did a very good job for the many years they
