His problem was that all other open space dedications have come to the City - as a general rule it was his opinion that the recreation facilities at STC are unavailable to the residents of the City of Louisville. Administrator Wurl advised that staff felt that the recreational facilities at STC were an asset and precluded the City from having to construct something to accomodate that need. Wurl also stated there isn't any land out there that the City particularly wants. Councilman Heier then stated in that case perhaps cash in lieu of would apply. Administrator Wurl stated in every industrial annexation that the City has had, because of the strong tax base different arrange- ments have been worked out He also stated that STC represents one-third of the City's assessed valuation. Hr. Graham advised that on the 280 acres that STC presently owns, possibly one-third of it is undermined and is not suitable for any kind. of development. Stated it was his opinion that by STC having recreational facilities for their employees at the site it lessened the burden of the City recreational programs. Mayor Caranci aked if there was anyone pre- sent opposed to the application. None. He then closed the public hearing APPROVAL Councilman DelPizzo moved that Ordinance No. 730 STC North Annexation be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Fauson. Roll call vote: Cummings Yes Neier No Domenico Yes DelPizzo Yes Fauson Yes Motion carried 4-1.
