City Council
Study Session Summary
March 1, 2022
• The Golf Course is hoping to have holes 6-18 open later this week. Holes 105
will be closed through the end of March for tree mitigation.
• Friday is last day at Ascent will be the location for placard distribution. Starting
next week placards for property owners will be available at the Police
Department and placards for contractors will be handed out with building
permits.
• We are planning to open city facilities to broader hours now that mask mandate
is gone; details to come.
• The access control points to the burn area will be manned through March 11.
After that we will be transitioning those access control points to roving patrols,
signage, and license plate readers.
• We are working to finalize the scope of work for the site superintendent program
so the building areas will have point people helping with the rebuild.
• The Museum held its first workshop on how to restore fire damaged items; they
have five more scheduled.
• The zoning summaries for the different neighborhoods are done and getting out
to residents.
• We are working with Marshall Together to connect neighborhood captains for
each neighborhood with staff so we can get real time information to people.
• The Disaster Assistance Center is closing on Friday at 5 pm. FEMA will be
accessible for people on line from that point forward.
Mayor Stolzmann asked if staff could bring an update at a later meeting on if properties
will need to be surveyed again after debris removal.
Councilmember Fahey stated trees may need to be watered to be saved and asked if
staff could investigate how that can happen with water turned off in these areas.
Councilmember Most asked where people can get help with the SBA. Mayor Stolzmann
stated our congressional delegation is aware that the regional multiplier and standard
numbers the SBA is using for this disaster are not high enough for this region. The
delegation is asking the SBA administrator to adjust that multiplier. People need to
apply with the SBA by tomorrow's deadline. If you are declined because of the numbers
you can ask for reconsideration if the multiplier is later adjusted.
Adjourned 9.52 am.
Submitted 311122 Meredyth Muth
