City Council
Study Session Summary
March 17, 2022
• Staff continues to work with our insurance adjusters on our insurance claim.
• We have begun a conversation with the Colorado Home Builders Association to
help us create a building flow chart for people to better understand the steps
they have to go through and what to expect.
• By next week we hope to have good news about starting a recovery navigator
program to help people find resources and be advocates for families who are
rebuilding.
• Access control points to the burn area will now have reduced law enforcement
staffing. Rather than 24/7 staffing at entrances there will be roving patrols
through the neighborhoods who will be monitoring access.
• We are conducting an internal evaluation of how we use leaf blowers.
• The City is hosting an event on April 9 for fire impacted families. It will be a
breakfast event at Community Park.
Councilmember Most would like the local green builders input included in the flow chart
and building information we are creating.
Mayor Stolzmann would like a report back on when County plans to update the
emergency notice system. Boulder is doing theirs now. If it looks as though the County
will not get this down are their other options we might want to consider. She would also
like the fire report the Sherriff's Office is doing when it is available.
Mayor Pro Tern Maloney would like more information on the exact number of destroyed
and damaged homes and why the number the County is using is so different.
Adjourned 9.45 am.
Submitted 3117122 Meredyth Muth
