It will show the
status of what is happening with lot by lot information for homeowners.
• The first rebuild permit has been submitted to planning for review.
Mayor Pro Tern Maloney asked when we will get the schedule for the debris removal.
City Manager Durbin said he doesn't have it yet, but it should be soon.
Councilmember Fahey asked about the Davidson Mesa Dog Park repairs and
reopening schedule. City Manager Durbin stated we are waiting on fence repair but
hope to have that complete soon.
Councilmember Fahey asked if people with financial need can have their rebuilding
permit fees waived. City Manager Durbin stated the building fees only cover the staff
cost of building permit review, our policy is not have generate any revenue above that
on permit fees. We are looking for ways to lower the cost through grant funding, but
don't have any ideas on that yet. We will monitor it closely and if we begin to bring in
more than is needed, fees would be lowered.
Councilmember Most asked if the officer who stopped the burglary could be recognized
and so people understand the Police Department is taking security seriously.
Mayor Pro Tern Maloney stated the building fees are a policy decision. We learned from
the hailstorm in 2018 that we had to hire a lot more staff for permit review and it does
cost a lot. He stated we should be cautious about promising anything on fees as we
need to cover costs, particularly as we approved spending up to $4.5M on debris
removal. That is a policy decision the Council would have to decide.
Mayor Stolzmann asked when Davidson Mesa trails will reopen. City Manager Durbin
stated construction starts this week on repairs. Communication on reopening trail
access is coming soon.
Adjourned 9.49 am.
Submitted 3122122 Meredyth Muth
