Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Director Interviews will be held in late April. The City <br />is looking into opportunities for board participation in the hiring process. <br />2. Staff conducted the first round of interviews on March 29 for the Ranger Naturalist and <br />moved four candidates forward to the second round. Staff conducted second round <br />interviews on April 6 and will be making an offer. <br />3. Seasonal Staffing- Two seasonal staff members, Derek Salge and Sarah Ilsley, started on <br />March 28. <br />Marshall Fire Updates Pertaining to Open Space: <br />1. Staff are finishing field mapping the burn perimeter on affected Open Space properties. <br />Field -drawn maps will be converted into a digital version by the City's GIS contractor. <br />2. Fire damaged fencing request for bids did not receive any bids. Staff are currently <br />reviewing options for the best path forward with a focus on prioritizing the Dog off - <br />leash area fencing. <br />3. Staff have continued to monitor for debris removal areas, instances of debris blowing <br />onto Open Space, and materials being dumped onto public lands. <br />4. Staff reopened Davidson Mesa on March 25. Fencing will remain along borders where <br />hard closure neighborhoods are located. Trail users are reminded to stay on trail and <br />use caution due to uneven trail surfaces due to wind damage. The dog off -leash area <br />remains closed. <br />5. Davidson Mesa Trail Contract. Construction will begin in April. Staff is working on a <br />phasing plan that will allow for the property to remain open during construction and <br />maintain access from the US 36 Bikeway to the Davidson Mesa Trailhead off of <br />McCaslin. <br />6. Staff hosted a volunteer fire debris clean up event on Davidson Mesa on March 26. <br />Approximately 40 people came out to help and two pickup beds were filled with debris. <br />15 <br />
