Open Space Advisory Board <br />Information Item 5: Staff Updates Continued <br />April 13, 2021 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />7. Staff are planning additional fire debris removal volunteer events (please see below). <br />8. Staff have been assessing post -fire erosion control and vegetation restoration needs. <br />See attached memo. <br />9. Staff and the City Manager's Office are discussing hiring a contractor to develop a <br />wildfire hazard assessment and risk mitigation plan for public lands. <br />Trails & Maintenance: <br />1. Construction is underway on several components of the 104t" St trail including some <br />curb, gutter, and concrete work where private access in needed. Trail work is being <br />coordinated with road improvement projects in the area. <br />2. Seasonals have begun their season and initial training has been completed. They are <br />assisting with various maintenance and spring cleanup projects on multiple properties. <br />Natural Resources: <br />1. The division is preparing to solicit cost estimates for post -fire vegetation monitoring on <br />Davidson Mesa, where extensive vegetation surveys were conducted in 2018-19. <br />Resource Protection: <br />1. Staff are in the process of removing the illegal campsite on Olson Open Space, just south <br />of and across the creek from the Coal Creek Regional Trail. <br />a. On March 20, staff placed an abandoned property notice at the campsite, which <br />appeared derelict. The notice gave the owner of the abandoned property one <br />week to remove all items. The Municipal Code only requires items to be left 24 <br />hours before they may be removed. <br />W <br />
