Roll Call <br />Board Members Present: David Blankinship, Laura Scott Denton, Charles Danforth, <br />Jessamine Fitzpatrick, Peter Gowen, Helen Moshak, Thomas Neville, Susan McEachern <br />Board Members Absent: None <br />Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull <br />City Council Member Present: Deb Fahey <br />3. Approval of Agenda <br />Peter moved to approve the agenda as written. Thomas seconded the motion. The <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />4. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes <br />Peter moved to approve the February 2022 OSAB meeting minutes without edits. <br />Thomas seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />5. Staff Updates - <br />See updates on page 10-11 of the March 2022 OSAB Meeting packet. Further updates <br />and explanations were done in the meeting by Ember. <br />There have been six candidates selected to move forward in the process of hiring a new <br />Open Space Ranger Naturalist. Interviews will be held in late March, with a selection <br />made by April. Staff have made two seasonal hires for summer. There will be a city job <br />fair soon where staff hope to identify additional potential candidates. <br />Staff will stop accepting contract bids for the fence work following the Marshall Fire on <br />the last day of March. <br />Staff monitored Hillside Open Space for erosion after last weekend's rain, no concerns <br />were detected. No active slope mitigation is currently planned at this time. Staff will <br />continue to monitor weather patterns and impacts. Staff is developing a fast response <br />volunteer crew to respond in case quick erosion remediation work is needed. Charles <br />asked if the scorched trees and shrubs were going to recover at Hillside. Ember said <br />they are hopeful that most trees will survive but staff will make observations in the <br />spring. Scorched trees and shrubs will be observed for green up in the spring before <br />deciding what to remove and what to replace.
