LCityof <br />Louisville <br />City Manager's Office <br />Memorandum <br />To: Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board <br />From: Emily Hogan, Assistant City Manager for Communications & Special <br />Projects <br />Date: April 20, 2022 <br />Re: Staff Updates <br />General <br />Sustainability Coordinator Hiring <br />• The City's new Sustainability Coordinator, Kayla Betzold, started on April 11. <br />Board/Commission Meetings <br />• Boards and commissions resumed in -person meetings starting in April. The next meeting will be <br />in the Spruce Room at City Hall (749 Main Street). <br />Education/Programming <br />• Green Business — breakfast on 4/14 <br />• Sustainability Film Series <br />o In collaboration with Lafayette, Superior, Erie and Broomfield, Louisville will be hosting <br />a virtual and free sustainability film screening of MOTHERLOAD. The screening will take <br />place on April 21 and 6:30 PM. Space is limited — please register to secure your spot. <br />Hazardous Materials/Electronic Waste Recycling Event <br />• Scheduled for May 14 from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. <br />• Have added Mow Down Pollution rebates for recycling gas mowers or leaf blowers and <br />purchasing an electric replacement. The City is coordinating with Boulder County's Hazardous <br />Materials Management Facility (HMMF), Eco-Cycle and Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC). <br />• Sign up for hazardous/e-waste slots will go live in April 22 (Earth Day) to the MailChimp <br />subscriber list and be shared with the general public on April 25. <br />
