Sustainability Advisory Board Agenda <br />March 16 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Lev moved to approve last meeting's minutes; Tiffany seconded his <br />motion. <br />5. 6:35PM Public Comment <br />RJ Harrington began by recalling the recent IPCC Working Group II <br />report, which contains the most dire warnings yet about climate <br />change and calls for immediate action to combat climate change. <br />In reference to the war in Ukraine, he lamented that some people <br />would rather kill other people than fight climate change. He noted <br />that, while LSAB is pivoting towards decarbonization efforts in <br />Louisville, City Council has postponed many of its sustainability <br />efforts in light of Marshall fire recovery, and he asked that we push <br />beyond fire recovery. <br />6. 6:45 PM City Staff Update <br />Emily informed us that the candidate for sustainability coordinates <br />had accepted the position with a start date of 11 April. <br />Emily informed us that in -person LSAB meetings would resume in <br />April. <br />Emily reminded us of the upcoming sustainability film series event <br />featuring the film Motherload. <br />Emily began a discussion of the upcoming hazardous waste and e- <br />waste recycling event in May. Todd asked about the staff point <br />person for this event. Emily replied that she is currently the point <br />person but that the new sustainability coordinator will take over this <br />role. Todd suggested that this event also cover gas -powered lawn <br />equipment recycling. Todd wondered if we incorporate any further <br />Vj <br />
