Historical Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 16, 2022 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Marshall Fire. Lastly, staff has been rapidly collecting items <br />concerning the fire and fire recovery for the Museum's collection. <br />C. Approval of Deeds of Gifts from donors: <br />The Commission members approved the deeds by vote 5 to 0, the <br />following donations: <br />1. From Norman Laurence - 23 color photos of the <br />buildings on the Museum campus in about 1982, before <br />the Museum was established. <br />2. From Cassandra Volpe - ceramic mugs from Karen's <br />Country Kitchen and menus and business cards from <br />the Blue Parrot and Senor T's restaurants. <br />3. From Gerald Maim - matchbook from the Blue Parrot <br />restaurant. <br />4. From Leo Deborski - tintype of William Pitchford; pay <br />records from local coal mines; historic County <br />property tax bills; and miscellaneous business receipts <br />relating to Louisville. <br />Bridget also mentioned that the Police Dept. gave the Museum a <br />Colorado flag that was at the Police Station the day of the fire and <br />that suffered damage. This is considered to be "collected by staff" <br />because it was transferred within the City, not donated by a private <br />donor. Bridget stated that the Police Dept. retained a U.S. flag that <br />was in the same situation and plans to have it conserved. <br />D. Advice sought on donations of other artifacts being offered: None <br />XII. Chair's Report: No report <br />XIII. Pioneer Award: <br />A. Possible presentation at April Chamber of Commerce event: The <br />event is on April 28th and the Commission talked of having a possible <br />presentation for the 2020 and 2021 recipients. <br />B. Write-up of the 2021 Pioneer Award to go in the next Louisville <br />Historian; the write-up for the 2020 award to Keith Helart <br />appeared in the most recent Louisville Historian: Bridget will ask <br />Paula about the write-up in the Historian <br />C.
