Question #7
What are some expectationslncrms the group - LSAB members and Coordinator - should abide by
in regards to corn mu nication, meetings, etc.?
4 responses
open to any type of structure
Concise meetings, meetings with clear agendas, meetings that do not run -over time, emails when only
necessary, clear objectives and timelines, and trusting members to exercise initiative.
Efficiency, focus, effectiveness
LSAB is a congenial, easygoing group.
Question #8
What are you hoping to see LSAB accomplish in the next year?
responses
1) survey all commercial businesses about interest in/barriers to decarbonization and to identify which
businesses are owned vs. leased so we can potentially start working with the property managers to make
upgrades - I'd like to characterize our businesses so we know who are good candidates for different types
of programs 2) identify ways to increase contractor training and knowledge of heat pumps (lack of willing,
qualified contractors appears to be a barrier), 3) highlight 1 to 2 good examples of "green" businesses"
through an open house for all businesses to attend
1) Get ambitious and organized like Ithaca, NY around Climate Action/Justice.
They are the same size as Louisville and we have WAY more resources than Ithaca_
This will require will, vision, cammAment, partnering with the private sector, leadership, and bravery to
move our white middle class community forward on this important work! If not now, when?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5NSM6--fcrw
2) Connections with other communities working on decarbonization,
2) Engage OTHER community members on our subcommittees,
3) Create an urgency and agency around climate action in our community that is rooted in attainable
solutions
4) Establish communication through the schools on climate action from the city that students and parents
can be a part of.
4
