City Council
Meeting Minutes
February 1, 2022
PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA AND THE CONSENT
AGENDA
Frank Price, 837 Trail Ridge Drive, stated he has found he is underinsured and the
estimated rebuilding costs are double what the insurance is quoting. He asked Council to
help represent residents this issue.
Debbie Haseman, 247 S Lark, asked Council to consider affordability options for those
rebuilding, including smaller footprint homes, Accessory Dwelling Units, and allowing for
duplexes, triplexes and townhomes.
Sonali Marlin, 847 Trail Ridge Drive, spoke about underinsurance issues and asked
Council to elevate these concerns to State and Federal officials. She is concerned her
neighbors will be unable to rebuild.
Annmarie Jensen stated she hopes Council will look at new and creative ways to rebuild
including allowing for more rental properties. This is an opportunity to evaluate single
family, large lot residential lots and consider more multifamily options.
Richard Morgan, 644 West Pine Street, stated he is pleased to learn that Avista is looking
to relocate and expand at Redtail Ridge. He expressed his concern that if school had
been in session during the fire, that the intersection at Monarch and 88th would have been
a disaster.
Alex Bradley, 1385 Caledonia Circle, thanked the City for listening to residents regarding
air quality.
Erin Lindsay, 826 Trail Ridge Drive, spoke on the underinsurance issue and asked
Council to leverage their connections to advocate for the homeowners.
Tanya Samauroo, 944 Larkspur Lane, asked Council not to change the code in any way
that doesn't help rebuild the community as it related to the law and ordinance rider.
Martha asked Council to consider relief from net zero building codes. The 2018 standards
will make homes more energy efficient than many in Boulder County. She is concerned
that the net zero codes will prevent many from rebuilding in Louisville.
Shaun Howe, 845 Trail Ridge Drive, expressed a desire to rebuild in Louisville and
shared with Council that her homeowner's policy was purchased on 12/7/2021 and she is
now being told she is $500,0004600,000 short on rebuilding her home. Wants people to
understand that the underinsurance issue isn't people neglecting their policies and is
asking Council to speak up at the State and Federal level.
