Historical Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 18, 2022 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />B. Museum buildings and campus: Sharon reported that staff is working on <br />applying for a State Historic Fund Grant for the Trott -Downer Cabins. The <br />funds, if awarded, would be used to pay a consultant to examine the <br />interior space and make recommendations on what work needs to be done <br />before the Cabins can be opened to the public. Also, the shade sail is up in <br />the Museum Courtyard. <br />VII. Report from Sharon Nemechek, Director of Library 8t Museum Services: <br />The City's EDI committee has had their first two meetings. There is going to be a <br />flag -raising for Pride month and Juneteenth. The quiet zones for trains will start <br />in June for Louisville. Also, light pole street banners will be put up for Louisville <br />History Month (among other commemorations) and to publicize the Museum. <br />VIII. Report from Bridget Bacon, Museum Services Supervisor: <br />A. Museum Services Supervisor's written report: No additional information. <br />B. Updates on Museum operations Et projects: Due to the Museum expansion <br />project being put on hold and the need for storage space, the Museum has <br />arranged for a storage unit to move the larger collection items into. <br />Bridget also stated that the position titles for the three part-time Museum <br />Technicians have all been elevated to Museum Associates to reflect the <br />level of their responsibilities. She said that Kaylyn Flowers had just left to <br />take a full-time job elsewhere and the City will soon post the job opening <br />for a new part-time Museum Associate - Outreach Services. <br />C. Approval of Deeds of Gifts from donors: The Commission members <br />approved the acceptance of the following donations by vote 5 to 0: <br />1. Beverly Stokes Klarich - photo albums, ledgers, and papers that belonged <br />to her husband, Charles Klarich, who was the project manager for the <br />proposed Centennial Valley Mall and the redevelopment on McCaslin in the <br />late 1970s and early 1980s. <br />2. Diane Marino - 1971 St. Louis Church directory and two cookbooks, one <br />from St. Louis and one put together by "Louisville Senior Citizens"; also, a <br />section of a bannister from the original State Mercantile Building. <br />3. Stephanie Greenman - digital images from the Moore/Hasson family of <br />Louisville. <br />4. Dan Ross - LHS letter sweater from his mother, Mary Waschak Ross, who <br />was on the 1942 volleyball team; large framed composite photo of the <br />Class of 1942 at Louisville High School. <br />5.
