Recreation Advisory Board
Minutes
July 25, 2022
Outdoor Recreation Amenities. The tennis/pickleball court at Mission Green
Park is in such disrepair that it might cause liability issues for the City. The
stopgap plan to paint pickleball lines on basketball courts in designated parks
seems to have evaporated. Board members would like to consider the
creation of a committee with members from both the Rec Center Advisory
Board and the Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board (PPLAB) to
work on creating a strategic plan. This will be an agenda item for next month.
Adam Blackmore stated that the Master Plan Process should include outdoor
rec amenities.
On behalf of a member of the community, Mary O'Brien asked about the
lights at the tennis courts, skate park, and inline skating rink. The community
member wanted to know how late the lights stay on. Kathy Martin will answer
that question next month.
Discussion and Action Items for Next Meeting
• Department updates
• Senior Services update
• Outdoor Rec Amenities update
o 2019 Outdoor Rec Amenities Survey information
o Possible creation of a Subcommittee
• Golf Course update
• Board updates
Adjourn — The meeting was adjourned at 8:04.
Motion: Lisa Norgard
Second: Patrick Haines
