City Council <br />1997 Goals <br />LEVEL I: <br />TABOR Ballot Question - request <br />voter approval from <br />revenue/expenditure limitations. <br />Maintain Louisville as a "Safe City." <br />Downtown Louisville: <br />• Develop downtown parking <br />plan. <br />• Develop downtown. <br />architectural/design guidelines <br />• Review role of Task Force/date <br />for completion. <br />Multi -year master plan for <br />landscaping/beautification of rights - <br />of -way, medians, major intersections, <br />and trails. <br />Policies and procedures for <br />neighborhood traffic mitigation. <br />Continue to invest in City workforce - <br />market salary adjustments, merit <br />program. <br />Initiate planning for Front Street - <br />Bella Vista Connection. <br />LEVEL II: <br />Develop plan for <br />landscaping/beautification of U.S. 36 <br />Corridor within Louisville - design, <br />fund, act, and maintain. <br />Implement Open Space Master Plan <br />recommendations. <br />Aggressively pursue water rights <br />purchase - CBT and Windy Gap. <br />Improve bidding/procurement <br />process for park/open space <br />maintenance and janitorial services. <br />Highway 42 Corridor improvement <br />plan - resolve negative impression; <br />get innovative; use public/private <br />partnerships. <br />Begin planning for Cherry Street <br />improvements. <br />Prepare for franchise renewal <br />negotiations with Public Service <br />Company. <br />LEVEL III: <br />Review South Sub -Area <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />Establish a policy for the expenditure <br />of revenues from the residential use <br />tax for school purposes - review <br />recent state legislation. <br />Work with Colorado Tech Center to <br />plan for future improvements. <br />LEVEL IV: <br />Participate in U.S. 36 Corridor Task <br />Force. <br />Work towards plan for improvements <br />to U.S. 36 Interchange at McCaslin. <br />Develop methodology for considering <br />new community park. <br />w <br />17 <br />
