General Fund <br />Revenue <br />(con't) <br />Licenses and Permits <br />Business License - The City <br />imposes a $23.00 annual business <br />license fee for all vendors doing <br />business within the city limits of <br />Louisville. At present, business <br />licenses are estimated at $13,000 in <br />revenue to the City. <br />Contractor's License - This is an <br />annual license fee for all <br />construction contractors doing <br />business within the corporate <br />boundaries of the City of Louisville. <br />The annual fees vary from $50 to <br />$100 based on the type of contractor <br />being licensed. Revenues from <br />contractor licenses are based on <br />historical trends. $35,000. <br />Dog License - An annual license is <br />required for each dog that is owned <br />or kept within the limits of the City. <br />Each spayed female or male dog is <br />charged $2, and each female dog is <br />charged $5. For fiscal year 1997, <br />dog licenses are estimated at <br />$1,150. <br />Liquor License - The State <br />delegates authority of issuing certain <br />liquor licenses to the Louisville City <br />Council. A fee of $450 is collected <br />as a new license; transfer of <br />ownership or location is $250; <br />change in managers is $75; renewal <br />of license is $50. Annual license <br />fees range from $25-$325, based on <br />class of license. Liquor licenses are <br />expected to provide $13,500 for <br />fiscal year 1997. <br />Construction Permit - Within the <br />city limits of Louisville, it is unlawful <br />for any person, firm, or corporation <br />to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, <br />repair, improve, convert, or demolish <br />any building or structure regulated <br />by the Uniform Building Code (UBC), <br />or cause the same to be done <br />without first obtaining a separate <br />permit for each building or structure <br />from the building official. Permits <br />are based on the dollar valuation of <br />the work to be done. Construction <br />permits are based on 44 new single <br />family residential equivalents and <br />commercial growth at about 65% of <br />the 1996 level. Expected revenues <br />of $285,501. <br />Excavation Permit - The City <br />issues street cut permits for all <br />excavation to any street, curb and <br />gutter, sidewalk, alley, and cross <br />pans. The permit is $50 or a charge <br />per square yard, whichever is <br />higher. Based on historical trends, <br />revenues for fiscal year 1997 are <br />estimated to be $1,000. <br />Plumbing Permit - At the time a <br />construction permit is issued, a <br />plumbing permit is collected, if <br />required for the job, based on the <br />fees outlined in the Louisville <br />Municipal Code Book.
