General Fund Revenue (con't) Licenses and Permits Business License - The City imposes a $23.00 annual business license fee for all vendors doing business within the city limits of Louisville. At present, business licenses are estimated at $13,000 in revenue to the City. Contractor's License - This is an annual license fee for all construction contractors doing business within the corporate boundaries of the City of Louisville. The annual fees vary from $50 to $100 based on the type of contractor being licensed. Revenues from contractor licenses are based on historical trends. $35,000. Dog License - An annual license is required for each dog that is owned or kept within the limits of the City. Each spayed female or male dog is charged $2, and each female dog is charged $5. For fiscal year 1997, dog licenses are estimated at $1,150. Liquor License - The State delegates authority of issuing certain liquor licenses to the Louisville City Council. A fee of $450 is collected as a new license; transfer of ownership or location is $250; change in managers is $75; renewal of license is $50. Construction Permit - Within the city limits of Louisville, it is unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, improve, convert, or demolish any building or structure regulated by the Uniform Building Code (UBC), or cause the same to be done without first obtaining a separate permit for each building or structure from the building official. Permits are based on the dollar valuation of the work to be done. Construction permits are based on 44 new single family residential equivalents and commercial growth at about 65% of the 1996 level. Expected revenues of $285,501. Excavation Permit - The City issues street cut permits for all excavation to any street, curb and gutter, sidewalk, alley, and cross pans. The permit is $50 or a charge per square yard, whichever is higher. Based on historical trends, revenues for fiscal year 1997 are estimated to be $1,000. Plumbing Permit - At the time a construction permit is issued, a plumbing permit is collected, if required for the job, based on the fees outlined in the Louisville Municipal Code Book. Plumbing permits are budgeted at $14,948 for fiscal year 1997.
