General Fund <br />Revenue <br />(con't) <br />year 1997, electrical permits are <br />budgeted at $29,896. <br />Burial Permit - A burial permit is <br />issued prior to interment. Revenues <br />from this source are calculated on <br />50 interments per year. $25,000. <br />Park Permit - A park permit is <br />issued to any person or group that <br />reserves a park facility within the <br />city. Park permits for fiscal year <br />1997 are budgeted at $3,000. <br />Boat Permit - Boat permits are <br />required for the use of a fishing boat <br />on Harper Lake. Boat permits for <br />fiscal year 1997 are budgeted at <br />$250. <br />Elevator Inspection Permit - An <br />elevator inspection permit is <br />required each year for businesses <br />located in Louisville that have <br />elevators and escalators. The <br />annual fee is $150 per device. <br />Revenue from this source is <br />budgeted at $5,100. <br />Intergovernmental <br />Grants - Grants are contributions or <br />gifts of cash or other assets from <br />another government that are to be <br />used or expended for a specific <br />purpose. Grants from various <br />governmental agencies are <br />estimated to be $87,351 for fiscal <br />year 1997. <br />Highway Users Tax - The Highway <br />Users Tax Fund (HUTF) is a state - <br />collected, locally -shared revenue <br />that is distributed monthly. HUTF <br />revenues are based on the following <br />formulas: <br />1 Basic Fund - the first seven <br />cents motor fuel tax and <br />various motor vehicle <br />registration, title, and license <br />fees and taxes; and <br />2. Motor Fuel Tax Increases - <br />the 1981 two cents gas and <br />special fuel, 1983 three cents <br />gas/four cents special fuel, <br />and the 1986 six cents <br />gas/seven and one half cents <br />special fuel tax increases; <br />and <br />1989 Increases - additional <br />two cents gas tax <br />increase/two and a half cents <br />special fuels tax decrease, <br />driver's license and motor <br />vehicle registration fees <br />increases, an increase of <br />certain truck registration fees <br />to offset the reduced special <br />fuel tax effective in 1989; and <br />an additional two cents per <br />gallon gas tax increase <br />effective January 1, 1991. <br />4. 1995 Increase - S.B. 95-47 <br />phases in over three years an <br />increasing reduction in the <br />amount of HUTF revenues <br />that can be allocated for "off - <br />the -top" general <br />administrative purposes, <br />resulting ultimately in $38 <br />million a year more HUTF <br />receipts being available for <br />streets and roads. The <br />increase in HUTF moneys <br />distribution is $13 million for <br />the state's FY 1995-96, $26 <br />million for FY96-97, and $38 <br />million for FY97-98 and each <br />year thereafter. <br />50 <br />
