LIBRARY WORKPLAN 2022 <br />Supporting Our Community Through Recovery <br />Fire Recovery <br />• Replace materials lost or damaged: find funding sources to replace the materials that <br />were lost or damaged in the Marshall Fire, while not charging patrons for these lost <br />items <br />• One Community Summer Reading Program: Change the theme of the summer <br />reading program to reflect the recovery and the rebuilding of community <br />System updates <br />• Work with Bibliotheca to update Self -checks, AMH and staff work stations <br />Engage Community <br />The library enhances our vibrant community. <br />Inspire Community: Serve as our community living room. Create gathering <br />opportunities for community members to interact, learn and share experiences with <br />each other and with local business people, artists, entertainers, and educators. Bring <br />our community together to build relationships and support our small-town atmosphere. <br />• Plaza Project: Create a fun, functional, inviting outdoor space for library visitors <br />to use wifi, read, and gather with friends as an extension of the library <br />• Gallery & First Friday: Reintroduce art to the gallery with new art hangings <br />every month. Bring back First Friday after hours library events to celebrate the <br />artistry of our community and offer a space for community members to gather. <br />Spread the Word: Introduce Library services and products to business owners & <br />community members. <br />• Explore new library users from all parts of our community. <br />o Storytime: Welcome back families to our storytime community <br />o Renew/strengthen relationship with City Depts., Kestrel, Balfour, Lydia <br />Morgan to recruit new library users <br />o City Welcome Packet: include information about the library in this packet. <br />Welcome All: Create an inclusive space that reflects the diversity of our community <br />and its needs <br />• Build on our authentically welcoming service model <br />o Customer Service/Welcoming Committee: create a committee of <br />employees from each public facing department to continue to build on, <br />and create standards for, our values of inclusion and authentically <br />welcoming customer service in all service areas <br />• EDI <br />o Continue to focus on hiring diversely <br />o Use City Council's Events and Recognitions calendar to guide our <br />events, programs, celebrations, displays, and booklists throughout the <br />library <br />o "People in my Community" Storytime: create a storytime that celebrates <br />the diversity of our community by having different community members <br />come and share stories <br />
