Motion carried 6-0.

CEl1ETERY FEES

Director of Community Services Hioco
had pres4ented a memo to all council
members requesting that the fees for
cemetery be raised:
Plot fees from $200.00 to $250.00
Burial permit 20.00 to 25.00
Recording fees 3.00 to 5.00
To become effective January, 1982.
A comparison sheet was also presented
to council members reflecting the charges
by surrounding cemeteries. Director Hioco
advised the cost of maintenance has in-
creased considerably and felt this small
increase in fees was justified.

Councilman DelPizzo

Expressed his disapproval of the increase
stating that the elderly are hard-pressed;
also that preference should be given to
the local residents for burial plots, and
people outside the city should be charged
the additional fee.

Councilman Domenico

Inquired if the senior citizens were given
a lower rate.
Director Hioco stated they were not; but it
was his feeling that most of them have already
purchased cemetery lots.

Inquired how many more lots would be avail-
able by closing off the streets.
The reply was approximately 300.

Councilman Cummings

INCREASE CEMETERY FEES
APPROVAL

Councilman Meier moved that the cemetery
fees be increased as recommended by the
memo.
