<br />ACCEPTANCE OF CITY ATTORNEY <br />AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S <br />REPORT <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilman Fauson <br />Mayor's Vote <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />Councilman DelPizzo <br /> <br />Councilman Meier <br /> <br />9/1/81 <br /> <br />Page -3- <br /> <br />Councilman Fauson moved that the City <br />Attorney's and City Administrator's <br />report be accepted and placed on file. <br />Seconded by Councilman Meier. Question <br />called for. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Asked if there should be some discussion <br />on HB 1332 allowing the Mayor to vote <br />in the same manner as council members. <br />Attorney Rautenstraus advised that as <br />of January, 1982 the Nayor would be <br />treated the same as council members for <br />voting purposes, allowing him to vote <br />on every item presented. But, he does <br />not have veto powers. A provision is <br />made in the Bill stating that if a City <br />does not wish to have the Nayor to have <br />voting privileges an ordinance mus t be <br />passed providing for that fact. If the <br />Council should decide that the Mayor not <br />be given voting privileges the ordinance <br />must be effective before the election of <br />a Mayor. <br />Mayor Caranci requested that members of <br />Council review HB 1332 and that it be <br />placed on the agenda for the next regular <br />meeting - September 15, 1981 <br />Councilman Fauson suggested that perhaps <br />a City Clerk should be appointed before <br />the election. Discussion by council. No <br />action taken. <br /> <br />Requested that the County Commissioners <br />be contacted regarding repairs to Delany <br />Road; also that McCaslin Blvd. is in need <br />of dire repair.- the last mile and a half <br />going south. <br />City Engineer Blanchard advised that Ad- <br />ministrator Wurl and Street Supt. Rickman <br />were to meet with the County Dept. and <br />it will be repaired. <br /> <br />Inquired of Director Rupp the status of <br />Cable TV. <br />Rupp reported they had met with their con- <br />tractor from Phoenix and there are a few <br />loose ends to be worked out relative to <br />the improvements to the street, storm <br />
