5/19/81 Page - 8 - PARROT II - LIQUOR LICENSE RENEWAL Councilman Domenico moved that the Parrot II Liquor License renewal be approved. Seconded by Councilman DelPizzo. Question called for. THE DEPOT - ALTERATION REQUEST APPROVAL AUDIENCE COMMENTS CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT ~RDINANCE #718 UPDATING ...OUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TITLES 1-9 - 2ND READING KIRK BADGER - REPRESENTING THE LOUISVILLE BUSINESSMEN'S ASSOCIATION Attorney Joss advised Council this request was in conjunction with State liquor licensing division. The owner is pro- posing to add an additional bar area on the south side of the building where the kitchen is presently located. Some walls would be removed to open up the area for public use. Councilman DelPizzo moved that the Depot's aleration request be granted. Seconded by Councilman Meier. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried 6-0 . None. City Attorney Joss read the ordinance by title only on second reading. He advised various amendments were being presented for Council's approval. The first - deleting the last sentence of section 2.72.030, page 3 - Payroll Deductions. Reason for this was that the State had changed its require- ments relative to the payments by the City from quarterly to monthly. Amendment #2 was delayed until the Louisville Businessmen's Association considered two sections of the ordinance - changing the fees for Business Licenses from $5 to $10 and the telephone tax from $4 per year per user to $12 per year per user. Reported the Business License and Telephone Tax sections of the ordinance had been dis- cussed at their last meeting, and they are very much opposed to any increase in phone tax. He stated the LBA emphatically approve the increase of business license fees to $10 in the event it is legal for the City to impose a tax of that type on all businesses for the purposes of maintaining an inventory and city directory.
