Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />CHANGE ORDER #5 - CITY HALL <br />REMODEL - HILLHOUSE ASSOC. <br /> <br />REMARKS <br /> <br />Mayor Caranci expressed his concern about <br />the number of change orders. Mr Hill- <br />house explained that most of the items <br />were in the process of negotiation and <br />had not been approved for the contractor <br />until the last two weeks. Some of the <br />final items were requested by various <br />department heads, specifically the <br />Librarian requested changes made to <br />the counter- some additional lighting <br />was requested. The items that are <br />being requested now have all been done. <br />One of them is from way back last spring- <br />eliminating the door from the Police <br />Chief's office back to the alley. The <br />point of contention on that was they <br />wanted to give us $100 credit for <br />eliminating the door but they were <br />charging us $178 for each time they <br />added a door. We had a little negotia- <br />tion with them and received a credit for <br />$331.66. He had been negotiating all <br />the itenlS for several months and they <br />should be resolved. There shouldn't <br />be any more change orders. The only <br />other payment due will be for retainage. <br /> <br />Mayor Caranci inquired on item Door #5, <br />from Library to Checkout, was to <br />have Hardware Group iffl, since this <br />door is a hollow core wood door. Why <br />was this hardware changed for the <br />door? ~1r. Hillhouse replied - at one <br />time we had a hollow core wood door, <br />and that door was changed to the hard- <br />ware for a store front door was in- <br />cluded in the price of the store front <br />door, so when it was changed from store <br />front back to a hollow core wood door, <br />there was no hardware, so therefore, <br />we had to allow additional hardware to <br />
