1/20/81

Page - 4 -

REMARKS

fit on the door. Mayor Caranci then
inquired - he did not find a refund
on the door that was being removed.
Mr. Hillhouse advised that a refund
was given in the amount of approx-
imately $330.
Mayor Caranci then inquired about the
lighting in the hallway.
Mr. Hillhouse advised it was additional
at the bottom of the stairs that the
Building Inspector requested be added.

COUNCILMAN CUMMINGS
LIBRARY CHANGES

Inquired about the changes in the
Library. Mr. Hillhouse explained
that tvlO changes had to be done to
the Library counter. This represents
approximately half the cost of that
change.. I through Hillhouse and Assoc.
have paid to CIC the other half of
that cost. One of the items was that
the ent:ire counter had to be lowered
approximately 6 inches. He felt that
this was his draftsman's error so they
paid for half the cost. The Librarian
requested some additional drawers be
installed in the counter and cut down
the counter in the center so that
children could be serviced. That cost
he felt should be added to the cost
of construction.

PROCEDURE

Referred to Change Order #39 -
Additional Light Fixture in Stair
"A" Indirect & Supervision 5% for $7.00,
asked if the 17% was taken on $1,965.90
to come up with $334.00 - if so the
$7.00 has been charged twice.
Mr. Hillhouse concurred and would make
the change and added the request for
payment of this change order would be
for the next Council meeting.
Why are the changes made before re-
quests are submitted for payment?
Woulml't it be more reasonable to
request the changes first? It was
his reconunendation that the contractor
come ito Council with the request for
the changes and costs, and then go
ahead with them.

COUNCILMAN CARNIVAL
$7.00 OVERCHARGE
