Sustainability Advisory Board Meeting Minutes <br />August 17, 2022 <br />6. Staff Updates <br />Result of the City's Budget Retreat: <br />The city will finalize the budget in November. <br />Kayla was asked to cut the city Sustainability programming budget request <br />by 75%. The original Sustainability programming budget was <br />$200,000/year, and the current request is now $50,000 per year. <br />LSAB had recommended specific line -items be included in the budget. <br />Kayla had to cut some of these line items due to requirement to cut the <br />original budget request <br />o The staffing support request was cut, but a line item for <br />electrification programming is still in the current budget request. <br />o Kayla is working with Energy Smart to discuss what an <br />electrification rebate program could look like in case this line item <br />gets approved. <br />The Capital Improvement request did not include funding for electric <br />municipal park equipment. <br />ACTION ITEMS: <br />o Kayla will look into whether LSAB could apply for grants. Kayla <br />thinks the city will need to receive the money. <br />o Kayla would appreciate us passing along grant opportunities to her. <br />Louisville has policies around which grants the city can apply for, <br />and government grants are normally eligible. <br />Sustainability Website <br />ACTION ITEM: <br />o Kayla would like us to give her recommendations for how to <br />improve it. <br />RFP for firm to develop Internal Decarbonization Plan: <br />The internal decarbonization plan RFP was presented to Council on July <br />26 and was approved unanimously. An internal team will review <br />applications, interview firms and contract with a firm by the end of <br />2 <br />
