Minutes - page 9 September 2, 1980 MALL BUILDING PERMITS Councilman Carnival asked if any building permits have been issued for the mall. Mr. Wurl stated that the plans have been submitted, but no permits have been issued yet. ALLEY PAVING Councilman Meier asked what the schedule was for the alley paving between Lincoln and Grant. Mr. Wurl stated that they are in the plans for next year, as the City works its way west. HOLES ON SIDEWALK Councilman Meier asked that the holes on the sidewalk in front of Jim Collins building and the Louisville Times office and several other areas, be repaired. PARADE THANK YOU Councilman Meier thanked all persons responsible for the parade as it was a great success and everyone enjoyed it. ART SHOW Councilman Meier stated that he enjoyed the art show and hoped that it would be continued through the years. PLAYING SIGNS Councilman Meier asked if Slow Children Playing Signs could be installed on W. Griffith St. as there are many children and the hill in that area hides the children. COUNCILMAN REPLACEMENT MAYOR PRO-TEM APPOINTMENT Councilman Domenico asked that Attorney Joss supply Council information re- garding the replacement for Council Ward II. After discussion, Mayor Caranci re- quested that a notice be put in the local paper requesting persons to sub- mit letters of interest to serve as Councilman in Ward II for the remaining term. Deadline for the letters will be September 12, 1980. Mayor Caranci stated that the Mayor Pro-tern will be appointed after the new Ward II Councilman is selected. APPROVAL OF REPORTS Councilman Meier moved that the Council comments and committee reports be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman Domenico. Motion carried.
