COUNCIL COMMENTS CONT'D GENERATOR AT FILTER PLANT CENTENNIAL VALLEY MALL ANNOUNCEMENT CEMETERY CANOPY NEW CLOCK FOR CITY HALL Minutes Page - 11 - August 5, 1980 discovered the pressure reducing valve was malfunctioning, parts had to be ordered for this, when they arrived they were the wrong parts and had to be reordered. City Engineer Blanchard reported the parts had been installed, but there was another malfunction due to a gasket, which has been ordered and next week this will be replaced. Councilman Meier asked what the status of the generator at the Filter Plant was. Administrator Wurl reported that quotes were being tabulated for the concrete pedestal base. He will follow up on it. Councilman Carnival inquired if the Jacobs/Kahan Co. had made an announcement regarding the other major department store. Administrator Wurl advised he had spoken with Mr. Kahan and the executive committee of the Board of Directors of the company that is going to announce met last week and approved the Louisville location, etc. They asked that the announcement not be released until after the Board has met and they would like to make the announcement. Councilman DelPizzo expressed his concern and disappointment of the condition the canopy is in due to improper care. He requested that it be repaired and stored properly. Acting Director of Parks & Recreation Hioco reported the canopy is scheduled to be repaired in two weeks, and if it cannot be repaired it will be replaced. A cover will be purchased, and a new location will be available for storage. Councilman Fauson requested the gentlemen from the Knights of Pythias be placed first on the a~:Jenda for the next meeting. He also stated that he had been contacted by several people who would like to donate money toward the new clock for the new City Hall. Administrator Wurl advised that he did not have the estimated cost but would have the information by next meeting.
