<br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />JULY 15, 1980 <br /> <br />Mayor Waschak called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. with the follow- <br />ing Council members present: Fauson, Caranci, Carnival, Meier, and <br />Domenico. Others present: City Administrator Wurl, City Attorney Joss <br />City Engineer Blanchard, Police Chief Leesman, Dir. Comm. Dev. Rupp, <br />Acting Dir. Parks & Rec. Hioco, and City Clerk Stahl. Excused absence: <br />Councilman DelPizzo and City Treasurer Hesson. <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES <br /> <br />ENCLOSURERS <br /> <br />Mayor Waschak and Council approved the <br />minutes of the July 2, 1980 Council meeting <br />as presented. <br /> <br />Councilman Carnival moved that the enclo- <br />surers be accepted and brought up under <br />the proper head of business. Seconded by <br />Councilman Meier. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ITEMS <br />ZURICK ANNEXATION REQUEST <br /> <br />Councilman Caranci moved that the Zurick <br />Annexation request be referred to Plan- <br />ning Commission for further review. <br />Seconded by Councilman Domenico. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />LUIGI'S LIQUOR LICENSE <br />TRANSFER <br /> <br />Attorney Joss reported that the appli- <br />cation was in order and that letters of <br />reference were supplied. <br />He noted that a public hearing is not <br />necessary unless the Council wishes to call <br />for one. <br />With no comments, Councilman Domenico moved <br />that the Luigi's Liquor License be trans- <br />ferred as requested. Seconded by Council- <br />man Meier. Roll call vote. <br />Ayes: Caranci, Domenico, Carnival, Fauson, <br />Meier. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />AUDIENCE COMMENTS <br />GRASSHOPPER CONTROL <br /> <br />Peggy Nielsen, 1526 Fillmore Ct. asked <br />Council to do something to control the <br />grasshoppers, this year and take the ne- <br />cessary precautions to limit the problem <br />for next year. <br />She noted that most of the problem is caused <br />by vacant fields where the weeds were not <br />cut and have resulted in an overrun by <br />grasshoppers. <br />She presented a petition from over 100 con- <br />cerned property owners asking for help on <br />the problem. <br />She recommended several options in destroying <br />the grasshoppers, spraying, controlled burn- <br />ing and blowing in late fall. <br />Council voiced their concerns on the <br />
