Hawthorne stated that he <br />lives in Mesa Point and also has a prob- <br />lem with grasshoppers and asked that their <br />area be looked at also. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT <br />ORDINANCE NO. 686 <br />DIGIACOMO-TESONE <br />ANNEXATION SECOND <br />READING PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />After discussion Council instructed staff <br />to look into controlled burning and con- <br />tacting the parties responsible for main- <br />taining the vacant areas and see if they <br />can be pursuaded to keep weeds cut and <br />possible plowing. <br />Council also stated that the weed ordinance <br />should be reviewed along with the court <br />procedure on violators. and also the <br />possibility of a pest ordinance. <br /> <br />Attorney Joss read Ordinance No. 686 on <br />second reading by title only, stating that <br />it was published in full on June 18, and <br />notice of public hearing was published on <br />June 25 and July 2, 1980. <br />Mayor Waschak opened the public hearing. <br />There were no comments. public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Councilman Meier asked about the sidewalk <br />installation. Mr. Wurl noted that the <br />City has applied for an SOS grant and <br />hopefully that will cover the cost. <br />After comments, Councilman Fauson moved that <br />Ordinance No. 686 be adopted. Seconded by <br />Councilman Meier. Roll call. Ayes: Meier, <br />Domenico, Caranci, Carnival and Fauson. <br />Noes: None.
