ACCEPTANCE OF REPORTS APPROVAL OF BILLS ANDERSON ASSOC. APPRAISERS CHARLES S. ROBINSON ADJOURNMENT Minutes - page 12 February 5, 1980 Councilman Domenico moved that the Council comments and committee reports be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman Meier. Motion carried. City Treasurer Hesson read the bills totalling $118,979.88. Councilman Carnival stated that the finance committee had three questions. 1. Centennial Engineering, Inc. $541.98 why can't the City engineers department do the work. Mr. Wurl reported that some work in necessary immediately and the City does not have the crew and some of the projects are special and require certain expertise and equipment. Mr. Wurl also noted that our City Engineer was hired at a different level than many of these projects require. Councilman Carnival asked why a local realtor could not appraise the land and where it was located. Mr. Wurl reported that local realtor appraisals do not hold the same value as an MIA appraisal which is used for financing. The appraiser is required to meet certain standards. The property was land that the City put into priority to acquire, the land in question is adjacent to the sewer plant. Councilman Carnival stated that the finance committee were interested in knowing what tests were made. Mr. Wurl stated that the tests were done on the 142 acres of sewer land and the buyer will pay for the tests at closing. After comments Councilman Caranci moved that the bills be approved and checks issued for the same. Seconded by Councilman Carnival. Motion carried. Councilman Caranci moved that the meeting be adjourned. Seconded by Councilman Domenico. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 11:15 P.M.
