<br />WATER HILLSBOROUGH <br />WEST <br /> <br />WALDO'S PROBLEM <br /> <br />MOBILE REGISTRATION UNIT <br /> <br />WITHDRAW OF RESOLUTION <br />NO. 16 TAX INCREASE <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF BILLS <br /> <br />Minutes -page 9 <br />September 18, 1979 <br /> <br />Councilman DiCarlo asked what happen to <br />the water pressure at Hillsborough West <br />on September 17. <br />Mr. Wurl stated that the contractor that <br />was working on the catch basins at <br />Mesa Point dug through the electric <br />line which powered the pump station <br />which caused the water shortage up there. <br /> <br />Councilman DiCarlo asked what could be <br />done to correct the problems at Waldo's <br />Chief Munger stated that the owner is <br />in the process of hiring new bar tenders <br />as the old bar tender was a member of <br />a gang which w'as causing many disturbances. <br />Mr. Munger stated that the police depart- <br />ment are going to work with Mr. Hickman <br />to get the problems corrected. <br /> <br />Councilman DiCarlo requested that a mobile <br />registration unit be used before the <br />election. <br />Mr. Wurl stated that he would get with <br />the City Clerk and work out a plan. <br /> <br />Councilman DiCarlo moved that Resolution <br />No. 16 be withdrawn. Seconded by Coun- <br />cilman DelPizzo. <br />After comments roll call vote was taken: <br />DelPizzo yes, Meier yes, DiCarlo yes, <br />Berry no, Kilker no, Caranci no. Tie vote. <br />Mayor Waschak voted yes, carrying the <br />motion to withdraw Resolution No. 16 which <br />would have put the increase in sales tax <br />to a vote on November 6, 1979. <br /> <br />Councilman Caranci moved that the Council <br />comments and committee reports be accepted <br />and placed on file. Seconded by Council- <br />man Meier. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman DiCarlo requested that the flower <br />bill from Housing Authority be held up for <br />further explanation, bill in the amount of <br />$49.81. <br /> <br />Councilman DelPizzo stated that some bills <br />such as the pop machine, candy machine, are <br />they in the red or working at a profit. <br />COlmcilman Kilker stated that he asked Mr. <br />Stahl to give a report on the deposits made <br />from those machines, which showed that they <br />were making a profit on the pop and candy. <br /> <br />Councilman DelPizzo moved that the bills be <br />accepted and checks issued for the same and <br />
