<br />MINUTES <br /> <br />LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />- ------ <br /> <br />AUGUST 21, 1979 <br /> <br />Mayor Waschak called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. with the following <br />Councilmembers present: DiCarlo, Berry, Meier, Caranci, and Kilker. <br />Others present: City Administrator ~\Turl, City Attorney Joss, City <br />Engineer Richardson, Director Community Development Drumm, Director <br />Parks & Recreation Stahl, City Treasurer Hesson and City Clerk Stahl. <br />Excused absence: Councilman DelPizzo. <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES <br /> <br />ENCLOSURERS <br /> <br />COUNCIL ITEMS <br />AMERICAN LEGION LIQUOR <br />LICENSE REQUEST SPECIAL <br />EVENT PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />LURHA APPOINTMENT <br /> <br />Councilman DiCarlo moved that the minutes of <br />the August 7, 1979, council meeting be <br />accepted. Seconded by Councilman Meier. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman Berry moved that the enclosurers <br />be accepted and brought up under the proper <br />head of business. Seconded by Councilman <br />DiCarlo. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Attorney Joss reported that the application <br />was in order for a 3.2% beer license for <br />September 2 and 3, the notice was also <br />posted properly. <br />Mayor Waschak opened the public hearing. <br />Paul Logue, 256 Matchless St., spoke against <br />the application stating that he did not want <br />his children subjected to drunkeness and <br />the danger of drunken driving. <br />There were no other comments for or against <br />the application. Public hearing was closed. <br />With no other discussion Councilman Berry <br />moved that the special events liquor license <br />request be approved. Seconded by Councilman <br />Caranci. <br />Councilman Berry remarked that the responsi- <br />bility for controlling the drinking is the <br />American Legions and he hopes that they <br />avoid any drunkeness or other problems in- <br />volved with drinking. <br />Roll call. DiCarlo no, Berry yes, Meier yes, <br />Kilker yes, Caranci yes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Drumm reported that the members of the <br />LURA and LHA Boards resigned their posts <br />and that they would like to be reappointed <br />as new meniliers of LURI1A, with the terms ex- <br />piring in January of the year designated for <br />each member. <br />Councilman Meier moved that the Mayor and <br />Council reappoint the members of the LURHA <br />Board as per Mr. Drumm's memo and list and <br />also to include the term expiring on January <br />on the dates listed. Seconded by Council- <br />man DiCarlo. Motion carried. <br />
