FORESTRY GRANT CONTINUED VARRA ENTERPRISES WATER TAP REQUEST CORRESPONDENCE APPROVAL CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT Minutes - page 4 July 17, 1979 Council voiced their concerns about people off of Main being upset that they are not given the same opportunities to have their trees trimmed or new ones planted. Mr. Stahl s"tated that they need to de- signa te a c4artain area to work on. Councilman Berry stated that one place that will need trees is near Main St. and Griffith where the plans are to widen Main which will destroy many matures trees up there. After discussion Councilman Caranci moved that David Stahl be authorized to apply for a $5,000 grant for new trees and trimming of existing. Seconded by Councilman DelPizzo. Motion carried. Mr. Wurl stated that he received a letter from Mr. Jack Varra to purchase a 1" water tap for 2130 So. 96th which would have to be approved by Council. Mr. Wurl stated that the fee would be double because the location is outside the City limits. Mr. Wurl stated that the City would as- sureSTC and Mizel that their portion of the pipeline rebate would be collected prior to the installation of the tap. Councilman Caranci did not feel that he would need a 1" tap and 1.vould like the engineering staff to do a study. Mr. Wurl stated that in the past a per- son was sold what ever size tap they desired. Councilman DelPizzo moved that Jack Varra be allowed to purchase a 1" water tap subject to working out the rebate for STC and Mizel. Seconded by Coun- cilman Heier" Roll call. DiCarlo yes, Meier yes, Caranci yes, DelPizzo yes, Kilker yes, Berry yes. Motion carried. Mr. Wurl reviewed correspondence. Councilman DelPizzo moved that the City Administrator's report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman Berry. Motion carried.
