<br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />JANUARY 2, 1979 <br /> <br />Mayor Waschak called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. with the <br />following Council members present: DiCarlo, Berry, Meier, Caranci, <br />Kilker and DelPizzo. Others present: City Administrator Wurl, City <br />Attorney Joss, City Planner Drumm, City Engineer Richardson, Parks <br />& Recreation Director Stahl and City Clerk Stahl. Absent: City <br />Treasurer Hesson. <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Mayor Waschak and Council approved <br />the minutes of the December 19, 1978, <br />Counc~l meeting as presented. <br /> <br />Councilman Berry moved that enclosurers <br />be accepted and brought up under the <br />proper head of business. Seconded by <br />Councilman Meier. Motion carried. <br /> <br />ENCLOSURERS <br /> <br />COUNCIL ITEMS <br />SMALL CITIES PROGRAM <br />GRANT APPLICATION <br /> <br />Mr. Drumm reported that the City was <br />applying for 1.5 million dollars <br />through the grant application. He <br />stated that LURA has reviewed the <br />staff recomendations and approved <br />them as follows. <br />$800,000 - for shopping center improve- <br />ments (to be traded for storm sewer, <br />rehab and CBD improvements by the <br />shopping center developer) <br /> <br />$600,000 - for low and moderate in- <br />come housing. <br /> <br />$100,000 - for administration <br />Mayor Waschak opened the public hearing. <br />There were no audience comments. <br />Councilman Caranci asked about the low <br />income funding. <br />Mr. Drumm stated that plans would be <br />to construct multiple housing units <br />along with single family dwellings which <br />would be rented by the City. <br />Councilman DiCarlo asked if the application <br />had been filed before. <br />Mr. Drumm stated that the application had <br />been filed last year, but was turned <br />down. He felt that with the Shopping <br />Center Improvements, the application <br />will be submitted on a different basis <br />and felt that there were good chances. <br /> <br />Councilman Meier asked about the shop- <br />ping center improvements. <br />Mr. Drumm stated that the City can <br />finance almost any type of improvement <br />
