Revitalization Commission <br />Minutes <br />September 14, 2022 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />Reports of Commission: <br />Facade Improvement Program Outreach Update <br />Staff encourages the LRC to continue outreach. As of September 2nd, there has been <br />a total of $137,439.67 in funding authorized. No funds have been disbursed yet. <br />Staff Updates <br />Economic Vitality Specialist Brown reported that Scherer Violin Shop, Modern <br />Folklore, and Bricks and Minifigs all recently opened within the Highway 42 Urban <br />Renewal Area. <br />EV Specialist Brown provided a brief update of the Business Assistance Agreements <br />noted in the packet. <br />The Commissioners expressed interest in being able to continue meeting virtually in <br />the future. Specialist Brown confirmed that staff will explore options to provide a virtual <br />option for future meetings. <br />Business Matters of Commission: <br />• Discussion- September 13 Joint Meeting with City Council <br />Commissioners provided a recap of the previous evening's meeting with City <br />Council for the public who were not in attendance. Commissioners discussed <br />the outcomes of the meeting and identified next steps. Commissioner Harald <br />commented that the communication issue between City Council and the LRC <br />may not have been completely resolved. Councilmember Leh agreed and <br />echoed the importance of both City Council and the LRC being aware of each <br />other's priorities. <br />Attorney Nick Cotton -Baez added that the LRC may be able to better utilize <br />both its Council liaison and staff liaison to help improve communication. <br />Public comment from Councilmember Dickinson — Councilmember Dicksinon <br />stated that there is currently no structure for communication or connection <br />between City Council and the LRC. <br />City Manager Durbin added that he has heard similar comments from other <br />Boards and Commissions. Staff is exploring how to improve communication for <br />all groups. <br />Agenda Packet P. 4 <br />
