- The LCC recaps on how many more years to their terms each member has and
Erica will check with Meredith to let everyone know how many more years each
person has.
d. Update from Communications Department & City Management (logo, social
media policies) (Erica)
- Memos: The LCC needs to use the city logo and not the committee logo. Reach
out to Emily Hogan who is the Assistant City Manager if you have questions.
Leah says that she has seen some communications/ advertising for the arts
grants with the LCC logo and it is concluded that we need to use the Louisville
City Council logo.
- Members of boards and commissions can't post to social media on behalf of their
board through the LCC account. Mark remarks that this is more of the city
cleaning -up process. JR remarks that he posted about some of the concerts
hosted by the LCC on his personal account and Erica says that is fine since it is a
personal account.
- Leah asks what the timeline is for promoting LCC events with
communications and social media. Erica mentions that she herself is in
charge of it. Leah asks if there is a more efficient way to get these details
out since timelines are hard to get something published 6 weeks ahead of
the event. Trina asks if this is more of a problem for the artist. Leah says
that we might need to put more of an emphasis on getting the contracts
back sooner in order to promote the events sooner as well.
- City Hall and the comms team say that extra funding and nonprofit involvement is
welcomed to support the arts and the LCC. Trina asks if this has anything to do
with the budget conversion that Leah had earlier in the meeting. Leah mentioned
that no.
e. Logo - we must use the Clty Council logo (see above discussion). JR thinks
that we need to have some verbiage that mentions the LCC in the copy. Mark says that
the city has to produce it or there is a template that they need to adhere to with supplied
guidelines. Leah asks does the city logo get supplied to the artists if they plan on self
promoting? Erica didn't give a clear answer on who gives the artist this logo, but it is
available from the City.
iii. Payment to artists- Leah asks what the cadence is with paying the band
members. Some bands this summer got paid at the time of performance, but some
artists like Betsy Tobin, didn't get paid until two months after the event. Erica states the
