Cityof ECONOMIC VITALITY COMMITTEE <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO -SINCE 1878 <br />SUBJECT: DISCUSSION- OCTOBER 27 BUSINESS FORUM RECAP <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 18, 2022 <br />PRESENTED BY: AUSTIN BROWN, ECONOMIC VITALITY SPECIALIST <br />SUMMARY: <br />The Economic Vitality Strategic Plan contains Action #2-6: "Host annual (or semi- <br />annual) Business Forum to gather all stakeholders, review City priorities, and gather <br />feedback." This is an ongoing Action. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />An annual (or semi-annual) Business Forum is included within the Economic Vitality <br />Strategic Plan. Louisville hosted its fall 2022 Business Forum on Thursday, October 27 <br />at Ascent Church (550 McCaslin Blvd). The event attracted over 70 guests from the <br />Louisville business community and included Congressman Joe Neguse as the featured <br />speaker. The evening also included a panel discussion with Mayor Ashley Stolzmann, <br />City Manager Jeff Durbin, Director of Community Development Rob Zuccaro, and <br />Economic Vitality Specialist Austin Brown. To close the evening, the panel answered a <br />couple of questions from the audience. <br />The event also included informational booths from the Louisville Chamber of <br />Commerce, Downtown Business Association, Boulder County Partners for a Clean <br />Environment, the Historic Preservation Commission, the Louisville Revitalization <br />Commission, Public Works, and Sustainability. The booths provided information <br />regarding local projects, programs, and funding opportunities of interest to the business <br />community. <br />The happy hour portion of the event featured appetizers from Coal Creek Grill, wine <br />from e-bike of Colorado, beer from Crystal Springs Brewing, and non-alcoholic drinks <br />from Doctor D's. <br />Staff has used the RSVP list and the on -site registration information to compile a list of <br />attendees. Staff will collect feedback from the attendees regarding the fall event, as well <br />as ideas for the spring Business Forum. Staff has also asked for feedback on the event <br />from the Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Business Association. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff seeks feedback on the completed fall Business Forum, as well as ideas for the spring <br />Business Forum. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />None. <br />Agenda Packet P. 8 <br />
