Staff finds this criterion is <br />met. <br />• The principal structure at 600 Lincoln Ave was constructed in 1904, <br />making it 118 years old. <br />Criteria 2: Landmarks must meet one or more of the criteria for architectural, <br />social or geographic/environmental significance. Staff finds this criterion is met. <br />• Architectural Significance — Represents a built environment of a group of <br />people in an era of history that is culturally significant to Louisville. <br />o This house is associated with the Folk Victorian era and the Slovak <br />community neighborhood. <br />• Social Significance — Exemplifies cultural, political, economic or social <br />heritage of the community. <br />o The owners are a part of the Slovak community as well as the coal <br />mining and local service economy. <br />Criteria 3: Landmarks should meet one or more criteria for physical integrity. Staff <br />finds this criterion is met. <br />• Physical Integrity — Shows character, interest or value as part of the <br />development, heritage or cultural characteristics of the community, region, <br />state, or nation. <br />o This house is in its original location. The 1948 size and form has <br />been retained. <br />Retains original design features, materials and/or character. <br />o Some of the Folk Victorian ornamentation has remained <br />maintained. <br />o Alteration certificate restoration work <br />Staff Recommendations: <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution 4, Series 2022, recommending <br />approval of 600 Lincoln as a Historic Landmark. <br />Staff recommends that the house be named for the Petrun family. <br />Staff Presentation (Alteration Certificate): <br />Section 15.36.120 of the LMC gives the criteria for evaluating alteration <br />certificates. Staff finds that the proposed design meets all relevant criteria. She <br />then reviews that the applicant will be doing the following restorations: <br />• Front porch <br />• Removal of southwest dormer <br />She then discusses the new garage, new addition, and the demolition of the two. <br />Staff Recommendations (Alteration Certificate): <br />13 <br />
