<br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT <br />CLOSE MAIN STREET <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #24 <br />INTERIM FINANCING <br /> <br />CONCRETE REPLACEMENT <br />AWARD BIDS <br /> <br />SEAL COAT PROJECT <br /> <br />August 1, 1978 page 3 <br />Council minutes <br /> <br />Mr. Wur1 reported that the Community of <br />Commerce has requested that Main Street <br />be closed on August 19, from Pine Street <br />to Walnut, on Main, so that the merchants <br />can have a sidewalk sale in conjunction <br />with the Centennial celebration. <br />Councilman DiCarlo asked about detouring <br />the route on Main Street. Mr. Wurl <br />said that he would take care of the re- <br />routing. <br />Councilman DelPizzo moved that Main St. <br />between Walnut and Pine Street be closed <br />on August 19, 1978. Seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Kilker. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl reported that as part of the <br />financing, Grant/Loan from FHA, under <br />the loan the community is required to <br />obtain interim financing from another <br />source, and the government pays back the <br />bank which the City borrowed from. <br />He stated that he has talked with several <br />banks and that United Bank of Denver <br />came up with the lowest interest rates. <br />Mr. Wurl read Resolution #24. <br />Councilman DelPizzo moved that Resolution <br />#24, Series 1978, be adopted. Seconded <br />by Councilman Meier. Roll call. DiCarlo <br />yes, Meier yes, Caranci yes, Kilker yes <br />and DelPizzo yes, Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl stated that the City called for <br />bids and that B.G. Concrete was low bidder <br />at $12,757.60. The amount budgeted for <br />the project was $12,000; and Mr. Wurl <br />recommended the bid be awarded to B. G. <br />Concrete. <br />Councilman Caranci moved that B.G. Con- <br />crete be awarded the concrete replacement <br />bid in the amount of $12,757.60. Se- <br />conded by Councilman DelPizzo. Roll call, <br />DelPizzo yes, Caranci yes, Meier yes, <br />Kilker yes and DiCarlo yes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl reported that all bids were <br />high and did not conform to the specs as <br />relates to the chips. He recommended <br />that the project be delayed at this time <br />and later on in the year the City would <br />stock pile the necessary chips and call <br />for new bids next year. <br />Councilman Caranci moved that the seal <br /> <br />coat project be delayed until later. <br />
