2023 Marketing & Communications for Parks & Open Space <br />This information is an excerpt from the 2023 Parks, Recreation, Golf, and Open Space Department <br />Marketing and Communication calendar highlighting planned marketing and communications for the <br />Parks and Open Space divisions. This is to provide the task force with an overview of engagement and <br />educational opportunities that have been planned independent of the sales and use tax renewal. <br />Ideas Highlighting Open Space, Parks, & Trails <br />The ideas below have been discussed during brainstorming sessions with both the Parks and Open Space <br />divisions and are in consideration to use during National Parks and Recreation Association (NPRA) <br />Month in July and other designated times throughout the Year. <br />• Informational sandwich boards at entrance to select Open Space Properties highlighting <br />acquisition date, history, and fun facts <br />• "Adventures with Louie and friends" (think Elf on the Shelf/Flat Stanley/Where's Waldo) — would <br />engage staff and public as Louie traveled and worked in the parks and open space <br />• Photo board with Face cut out <br />• Did You Know? — Social media/email Fun fact about Parks and Open Space in Louisville <br />• Quiz: Social Media Quiz on Parks and OS <br />• Property Highlight — Social Media/email Highlight park or open space property (utilizing <br />information from sandwich boards) <br />• THE LATEST BUZZ: weekly PROS information put on the website <br />• Videos of Trails/Properties <br />• Booth at Farmers Market <br />• "Why I Love Open Space" Campaign <br />Parks and Open Space Calendar <br />The outline below show tentative dates for events, programs, and projects within the Parks and Open <br />Space Divisions.
