Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
February 27, 2023
Dunlap moves and Burg seconds a motion to approve Resolution No. 4, Series
2023. Motion passes unanimously by a voice vote.
Approval of Minutes
Dunlap mentions that on items from staff, there were two properties that were
landmarked, given grant money, and were to go to City Council. He mentions the
comment made for 612 Jefferson Ave and asks staff to clarify on this comment.
Brackett Hogstad says at that City Council hearing, two council members had
said they were in favor of the proposal for 612 Jefferson Ave. They had given
feedback to HPC. It was not discussed during this commission but it was
information she felt was important to pass along in the minutes.
The minutes are approved by all members.
Public Comments
None is heard.
Work Plan & Project Subcommittee Updates
2023 HPC Work Plan
Brackett Hogstad explains how she will keep track of the work plan. She will take
notes during the subcommittee updates and she will include this document for
every hearing so that the commissioners can review if they want. She mentions
that this commission has put in almost 30 volunteer hours just in the past month
because of the conference attendance.
Coloring Book Update
Burg says the subcommittee reviewed the feedback and communicated that
feedback to the artist. The artist is working on two drawings and will get back to
us. We have also started working on the write-ups for each piece.
Social Media Update
Haley says she is putting together a calendar so that they can organize when
and what posts should be created. She informs the commission the different
ideas she has for each month of what the posts could contain. She brings up that
she needs more clarification on what platform they should be using.
Brackett Hogstad says she can bring more clarification on the platform to this
subcommittee.
HPC Training
Keller says he spoke with the representative from Denver. She is willing to come
to Louisville and speak to us in person if we can decide on a day and time. she
also mentioned that they have a lot of online training videos that the commission
can do on their own time. That may be a good place to start.
Haley says the representative mentioned collaborating with other counties or
cities for an in -person meeting.
Burg says she is in favor of having this collaborative meeting.
9
