RESOLUTION NO. 28 SERIES 2023 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMMUNITY DECARBONIZATION PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Louisville remains committed to its adopted goals to reduce energy consumption, increase clean energy sources, and support the transition to a low - carbon community as outlined in the Sustainability Action Plan and Resolution 25, Series 2019, "A Resolution Setting Clean Energy and Carbon Reduction Goals", and WHEREAS, Xcel Energy has offered to partner with the City in the development and implementation of a Community Decarbonization Plan that reflects the City's vision in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy supply, building, and transportation electrification sectors; and WHEREAS, there has been proposed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") to confirm the City's and Xcel Energy's intent to participate development of the City's Community Decarbonization Plan. WHEREAS, by this resolution the City Council desires to approve and authorize the Mayor to execute the MOU. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. The Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") between the City of Louisville and Xcel Energy to confirm the City's and Xcel Energy's intent to participate development of the City's Community Decarbonization Plan, a copy of which MOU accompanies this Resolution, is hereby approved. Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the MOU, and the Mayor is hereby further authorized to negotiate and approve such revisions to the MOU as the Mayor determines are necessary or desirable for the protection of the City, so long as the essential terms and conditions of the MOU are not altered. 023 Page 1 of 1
