<br />Open Space Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />June 10, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />edge of the trail. Trail needs to be cleaned up after debris was dumped <br />on trail. Art indicated that maintenance needs to continue. Art also said <br />that there is an area collecting water that may be a mosquito concern. <br />Also Art is concerned with big patch of water near pumping station. Art <br />said that a second bench was desired and asked what donation amount <br />would be sufficient to have a second bench included at Hecla Lake. <br />Ember said that a concrete pad may have to be included in the donation <br />and asked that a location be suggested. <br />2. Ember showed a current photo of the Davidson Mesa dog-off-Ieash area <br />which was very green with vegetation and then a photo of hillside social <br />trail reseeding areas which are filling in nicely. <br />3. Kiosk at Davidson Mesa was damaged by a chipper box, so roof of kiosk <br />was repaired. <br />4. Ember showed photos of Tamarisk Open Space where repair of drainage <br />has been taking place and Russian Olives have been removed by Urban <br />Drainage. <br />5. Ember said that Open Space applied for a grant that was approved for <br />the removal of Russian Olives and monitoring. <br />6. Warembourg conservation easement has 700 Russian Olives. AIIergon is <br />a company that is coming in to cut Russian Olives and harvest pollen with <br />support from Boulder County. <br />7. Staff has been doing wildlife monitoring. Several nests have been <br />located which are active two-Swainson nests, 5 Red tails, 2 Great horned <br />owls. <br />8. Ember gave summary of upcoming Volunteer projects. <br />9. Youth Corps starts in mid-June and Ember gave summary of upcoming <br />events. <br />10. Date for All-County Board Meeting is Sat, August 22nd, which is open to <br />Board and Staff members. <br />11. Trail construction scheduled for Daughenbaugh shortly. <br /> <br />Board Updates <br />Tom shared photos taken by a neighbor, including several photos that <br />depict debris left over from fishing derby. Neighbor is upset about impacts to <br />wildlife habitat. Some of the photos were from the time period when the fishing <br />pond was being constructed. <br />Tom also said that no noise complaints about trail construction. <br /> <br />Draft a Recommendation Regarding Potential Changes to the Existing <br />Rules & Regulations Pertaining to the Coal Creek Regional Trail <br />Tom suggested some regulation on "organized events". Ember said that <br />there is a list of 8 items, including "special events", that all the groups agreed to. <br />Tom asked how we mediate a conflict between jurisdictions. Ember said that a <br />meeting of the Coal CreeklRock Creek group would take place to resolve the <br />
