CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT
FIRE DISTRICT

C.E.T.A. PROGRAM
EMPLOYMENT FUNDING

Mr. Wurl stated that he met with the fire
department to discuss the district.
The fire department agrees with theplan to
form a fire district.
He stated that one of the things the depart-
ment is working on is the boundary descrip-
tion.
Mr. Wurl stated that he informed the
fire department that Council would take
care of the costs for the change since it
was their request to form the district.

Councilman DelPizzo stated that he did not
like the idea of turning over all the
equipment and the fire hall to the depart-
ment.
Councilman Caranci stated that it would be
cheaper to have the district because this
way there would be cash flow from outside
the city, through the entire district which
would help defray costs of the citizens of
the City.
Council voiced their opinions on having the
fire department go outside the City.
Mr. Wurl stated that the fire department
asked if the City would still turn over
the property Mizel had set aside for a fire
station.
Mr. Wurl stated that he said that the Coun-
cil probably would.

There was no further discussion.

Mr. Wurl stated that every year the City
has applied to C.E.T.A. for funding on
new employment that was budgeted for in
the year.
Mr. Wurl stated that the City has gotten
approval for a draftsman and clerk typist;
however, he would like to have Councils
approval to go back to C.E.T.A. and re-
quest for a draftsman and maintenance man
instead of a typist.
Mr. Wurl stated that these are temporary
jobs, but C.E.T.A. would like to see them
turn into full time jobs if possible.
Mr. Wurl stated that the City could not take
them full time, but would keep them through-
out 1977.
After discussion, Councilman DiCarlo moved
that the City Administrator be authorized
to proceed with the C.E.T.A. funding re-
questing a draftsman and maintenance man.
Seconded by Councilman McDonald. Motion
carried.

-7-
